## How it works

Open-Launch is an open-source alternative to Product Hunt. Products launch every day at 08:00 UTC and people vote and comment.

Only a few free launches happen each day (5 a day in the open-source code), so the free queue fills up months ahead. Reports say free dates are booked into 2027. A paid Premium launch, a small one-time fee (about $9 to $12), lets you schedule sooner.

Daily winners get a badge. If you put the badge on your site and tell them, your link becomes "dofollow" (good for SEO).

## Good fit if

- Any product, especially open-source ones
- A cheap way to pick your launch date

## Skip it if

- You need it free and soon. The free queue is long

## Prepare before you start

- [ ] An Open-Launch account
- [ ] Product name, website URL and description
- [ ] Logo (max 1 MB)
- [ ] Up to 3 categories and up to 5 tech-stack tags
- [ ] Optional: GitHub URL and X (Twitter) URL

## Step by step

1. **Submit.** Sign in and submit your project. You can launch one project per day.
2. **Pick a date.** Free: choose the next open free date (often months away). Premium: pay the small fee and choose a date within about the next month.
3. **Launch day (08:00 UTC).** Share your link and reply to comments. If you win a badge, add it to your site and email them to get the dofollow link.

## Rules (break these and your launch gets removed or ignored)

- One launch per person per day
- Don't fake votes. Open-Launch rate-limits voting

## Tips
